Sienna is one of the many young people who has struggled with life under COVID-19. She has been juggling anxiety and depression with homeschooling of three young children, while trying to gain an accountancy qualification that would give her long-term independence.
With no access to a computer, Sienna became totally isolated and was unable to continue her course, and homeschooling her children also proved unachievable.
Through our bursary fund, Sienna was provided with a laptop. This has allowed her to give engaging lessons to her children, and has also made it possible for her to continue her accountancy course. Thanks to the Fund, Sienna has gained reassurance for life during COVID-19, and also beyond.
In times of economic hardship, It's usually young people like Sienna who bear the brunt. Through our Employability programmes, we're determined to fight that pattern, and give them the tools they need for an independent future.
Sienna said about the programme:
"I am very grateful for the funding allowing me to receive a laptop. Without this I couldn’t have started my university course and I was feeling a lot of anxiety and nervousness because of this. I am so glad that this has now eased thanks to the opportunity I was given."
Due to COVID-19, there are many more young people like Sienna who need our help. Will you help us give them a second chance by donating today?
